(De)Constructing the Arabian Head by Ehetere (De)Constructing the Arabian Head by Ehetere
Just a little guide to how I draw Arab heads; I thought it might be useful for those getting into Arabian Warmbloods or simply those who draw Arabs (or want to do something a little different with their sketching?). This is the same method I use for all my horse heads, with a few modifications for head type and such, but this just demonstrates how easy it is to construct a quick headshot from any angle.

Hope you guys can find this useful :D

Glad it was useful! I use pretty much the same thing for other breeds just tend to draw straighter lines rather than following the dips ;)

This has definitely been helping me in my sketches. Will you be doing one on how you break down body shapes?

I'm thinking I will yes: there's so much pressure on correct confo that I don't even pretend to have, but I think the way I go about it might be helpful to some people? Maybe? :XD:

You're welcome: I think just a simpler way of looking at it really helps when attacking the initial sketch and then everything just falls into place :D

Very useful, I use a similar method with my drawing, but don't use diamonds & sharp corners as much, I'll have to give it a try!

everything you could ever want to draw can be broken down into shapes <3 use a similar method all the time. love it.

Yeah. I also find for shading it helps to draw upside down if you're having a hard time. Forces your brain to see shapes isntead of a familiar forms.
