She’d been here before. Of course she’d been here before, it was her home, but she’d been here before. Her whole world was light, like a dream, one she’d had more than once. Her magic surrounded her, motes of snow dancing in the air as they gently fell, glowing like fireflies in the light that came from her very soul. It cast a warm pool of pale gold around her, a beacon in the half-light of evening. This time though she knew it wasn’t a dream. She could feel it, real and corporeal.
She cantered swiftly through the forest, her feet finding the path without having to be told where to go. She hardly had to think; she knew where she was going. Every part of her knew. She’d wanted to return
